What is a Composite Door?
Composite Doors were originally designed to provide the same look and feel as Timber doors but without the need to continually treat or paint the timber.
A Composite door is made up of a composition of different materials; (Timber, Fibreglass, uPVC, Etc.).
The Composite door slab itself is 44mm thick and has a timber core innards which provide excellent strength and insulation benefits, The slab has a durable fibreglass outer skin which has a wood-grain texture and is available in a number of different colours and style options.
There are a lot of different options available to customise a Composite door to your liking with the Style, Colour, Glass, Hardware all possible to be changed.
All of these options along with the look and feel of Composite doors, make them very popular for the entrance of properties.
What is a uPVC Door?
uPVC doors are manufactured using reinforced uPVC and although there are still some customisable options such as having a foiled colour and obscure glass, the different style options available are much more restrictive.
uPVC is typically used when a fully glazed or half glazed door style is required and are mainly used as back doors, side doors or utility doors.
How secure are uPVC doors compared to composite doors?
Composite Doors and UPVC Doors will have Toughened Glass, High-Security Lock Mechanisms and High-security Cylinders, so the security of both doors should be the same.
