- Polyamide thermal break running the length of the profile. U-values from 1.3 W/m²K double-glazed or 0.9 W/m²K triple glazed. Meets Part L with standard 28mm A-rated units.
- Security
- Multipoint locking on the main opening sash, shootbolt locking on the floating mullions. High-security handles and hinges as standard.
- Running gear
- Parallel stainless-steel tracks with quad stainless-steel rollers, spreading the load so the doors stay light to move years down the line.
- Panels
- Up to seven sashes. Fold inward or outward, all one way or split to either side, with the option of a master door for everyday use.
- Thresholds
- A low threshold for near-flush, step-free access, or a rebated threshold with a weather rating for exposed elevations.
- Testing
- Weather performance to BS 6375-1. Cycle testing to BS 6375-2.
- Guarantee
- 10 years on frames and glass.

Common questions
How wide can aluminium bifold doors go?
The Smart Visofold system we supply carries up to seven sashes, which covers most domestic openings. The practical limit is usually the wall you have to stack the panels against, not the door itself. Send us the opening width and we’ll tell you what works.
Are aluminium bifolds warm enough?
Yes. Modern aluminium bifolds are thermally broken — an insulating polyamide barrier inside the frame separates the outside metal from the inside. Ours reach 1.3 W/m²K double-glazed and 0.9 W/m²K triple, which meets current Part L.
What is a master door, and do I need one?
A master door (sometimes called a traffic door) is one panel hinged like a normal door, so you can step outside without folding the whole set back. If the bifold is your main route to the garden, specify one. It adds very little to the price and it’s the option people most often regret leaving out.
Can I have a flat threshold?
Yes — a low threshold gives a near-flush, step-free transition. On an exposed elevation a rebated threshold is usually the better call: it carries a weather rating and channels water away from the house. We’ll tell you which suits your site rather than just selling you the flat one.
Which way should the doors fold?
Outward-folding is the usual choice — the panels stack against the outside wall and don’t eat into the room. Fold them inward only if you’ve no external wall to stack against, or the doors open onto a narrow path. Either way, the same profiles are used.
