Conservatory Style Series: The Victorian Conservatory

Victorian Conservatory from AstraFrameAll of our conservatories are made to order. So to help you choose the one to perfectly suit your home, we’ve put together this conservatory style series that looks at the features of different types of conservatory designs.

The Victorian

One of the most popular conservatory styles, the classic Victorian suits every kind of home and garden. It creates a bright and airy space for properties and bespoke design details make it a complementary addition to any home.

Taking on the gothic design elements of the period, the Victorian conservatory looks stunning on traditional properties. It has a curved end to make it appear more spacious and the shape can be configured with either 3 or 5 facets depending on the angle you would like on your conservatory.

Its steeply pitched roof (similar to the Edwardian style) gives the feeling of an even bigger space and a traditional design is finished off with elaborate, decorative ridges drawing inspiration from roofs on Victorian houses.

The grandeur and elegance of a Victorian conservatory can add extra character to homes and frames can be sprayed any colour, to match in with windows and doors, or to stand out. For a traditional 1880s look, try Chartwell Green or Cream or you could go for a woodgrain finish.

TOP TIP For a classic design with a twist, try a Victorian style conservatory with Slate Grey frames and brushed chrome hardware.

For larger conservatories, consider self-cleaning glass for roofs to save yourself time on maintenance or if your garden is south facing, heat-reflective glass will help to keep your conservatory cooler in the summer months.

AstraFrame’s conservatories are made to order at our factory showroom in Norwich and we offer a quick turnaround on all orders. You can choose to DIY, use a local tradesperson or we have a list of fitters that can do the installation for you.
